A prayer by Dr. Reinhold Neibuhr

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can;
And the wisdom to know the difference.

A Mother Goose Rhyme

For every ailment under the sun
There is a remedy, or there is none;
If there be one, try to find it;
If there be none, never mind it.

Mommy, it’s a P!

“It’s not your Birthday.
Why do you want a birthday balloon?”
All the books on parenting are against bribing.
But I just want to finish shopping and go home.
How am I ever going to do that with a shouting and screaming 3 yr old in my shopping cart?
OK… OK… Let me see.
$3 ?
Three dollars for a balloon!
How long will you play with it?
How much Indian rupees is that ?
No, don’t think.
You won’t be able to buy anything if you do that.
Here have it your way.
I think I have to read a book on disciplining a preschooler now.

“Mommy, Mommy, P!”
“What? Where?”
“There are two P’s in the balloon.”
“Wow! You found that.”
He spelled…. H-A-P-P-Y.
Here it comes… here it comes.
No, that was wishing too much.
He is not going to read it.
“It says Happy … Happy Birthday.”
” Mommy, two P.”
“OK . You got a balloon with 2 P’s.
Happy?”
“No… 2P.”

TODAY !

Lead , kindly Light…
Keep thou my feet: I do not ask to see
The distant scene;one step enough for me.
