MY HEART LEAPS UP WHEN I BEHOLD

My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.

– William Wordsworth

I Love BJ’s

I love going to BJ’s.
First we make the wonderful journey to the parking lot.
Then I get to say, “Red Light, STOP” and “Green Light, GO”.
Mommy also lets me pick a shopping cart. They have those really big ones.
So I can just sit or stand or lie down if I want to.
We always buy the cookie first.
Ummmmmmm , they are so yummy.
She even lets me eat one in the cart.
Then we always buy bread and milk.
It’s really fun sitting squeezed in between all those things.
Sometimes I even kick things in the cart.
(She doesn’t like it.)

The most important thing is there are lots of people.
I love people, especially babies.

It’s not all play. I have duties too.
I handout the BJ’s card, collect the receipt and hand it out to the guy at the exit.
I even say “Thank you” and “You’re welcome”.
Then I have to find our car.
At home I help her unload everything .
What can I say? I am a hard working guy.
Don’t you think I deserve a cookie?

A Prayer by Rabindranath Tagore

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless in facing them.
Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it.
Let me not look for allies in life’s battlefield but to my own strength.
Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved but hope for the patience to win my freedom.
Grant me that I may not be a coward, feeling your mercy in my success alone;
But let me find the grasp of your hand in my failure.

A Journey to the Parking Lot

Race you....

Mommy says we’re going out. Yay!
No, mommy, not through the laundry. It’s a shortcut. You’ll miss all the fun.
Here, follow me.
We have to take the longest route possible to the parking lot.
There is so much to see.
Run with me.
See … here comes a pickup truck.
Wait here . Another one will come soon.
No, it’s not that cold.
There comes another one.
OK. Let’s go.
Look mommy , a squirrel.
Wow! He’s sooooooo cute.
There’s a stick. There’s another one. There’s another one.
Let’s count them.
Wait. Stop.
I forgot to jump near the tree.
Let me go back.
One, two, three …jump. SEE.
OK. Race you to the parking lot.
There’s my car. Why are you shouting again that I should not run through the parking lot?
How else will we reach our car?
How many times do I have to show you this?
Once we reach the parking lot, we have to run to the car.
I don’t want to hold your hands.
I am a big boy.
But call me baby.
I can climb all on my own. I can even say SEATBELT.
Now let’s go wherever you want to go.
What ? It took only fifteen minutes to get to the parking lot?
Don’t worry Mommy.
Next time we will watch more cars or squirrels. That would be fun.
